August 1, 2011 What is new at Aqua~Fit? Froggies & Aqua Finners have come ashore at Aqua~Fit!!
Froggies is a new Adaptive Special Needs Learn to Swim Program being introduced into Aqua~Fit’s curriculum. The program’s goal is to improve flexibility, coordination and range of motion while strengthening and toning muscles. This process improves spatial and body awareness, gross motor coordination and control. This entire process builds self esteem and promotes fun and play for child as well as for the family. Ultimately the Special Child is able to forget about their limitations while learning new behaviors and skills, while enjoying play and exercise time. If you have a Special Needs child or know of a family who does, please consider this program for your child or share information with a family who does.
Aqua Finners is a new training, endurance and exercise session that is all about high intensity. It is definitely NOT a swim lesson. A child must swim the full length of the pool to be considered for the program. Aqua Finners is all about placing the knowledge a child has in swimming
and taking it one step further to a safer level.
