Frequently Asked Questions For Children's Swim Lessons
Q. What is Miss Mimi’s & Aqua~Fit's swim philosophy?
A. To teach swimming life-skills in a warm and loving environment. To be open and honest while firm but fair with each swimmer in order to achieve their swimming goals with success.
Q. How are small groups formed and how many children are in a group?
A. Children are grouped according to their age and/or ability. Class ratios vary depending on student’s age and abilities with a minimum of four students per class and up to six per class.
Q. What are the different swim levels?
A. Detailed descriptions of the various levels are found under the Home Page tab "Brochures and Schedules."
Q. What if I’m assigned a swim time that conflicts with my schedule?
A. Please check your schedules carefully and write on registration forms if there are specific times that your child cannot swim. Please let Aqua~Fit know ASAP if there is a conflict as we will do everything possible to accommodate.
Q. What if I need to reschedule a swim session?
A. Rescheduling a swim session will incur a $10 charge per child/per change.
Q. What if my child misses a class due to illness?
A. Classes will be made up for illness only.
Please contact Aqua~Fit to schedule make-ups within a timely manner.
Q. Should my child wear a swim suit to lessons or change at Aqua~Fit?
A. Children should arrive wearing their swim suit and shoes to lessons (we prefer a one piece suit for girls).
All children that are not potty-trained must wear a swim-diaper and swim suit to lessons.
Q. What about sunscreen?
A. Suncreen is not necessary for the indoor facility.
Q. Do I swim with my child?
A. You only swim with your child if you are registered for the WaterBugs Class, a parent/child class for children up to2 1/2 years of age.
Q. Are there restrooms available?
A. Yes. If necessary, the parent is responsible for taking their child to the restroom during their class time
Q. Is there a place to watch swim lessons?
A. Yes. We ask that the parents watch at a distance away from their swimmers as to not distract.
There is also an observation deck and a glass viewing window in the lobby.
